Community Guidelines
Kavi Media, Inc.
Version 1.0 — Effective 20 October 2026
Published at kavi.audio/legal/community-guidelines
1. About these Guidelines
1.1 These Community Guidelines are one of the Kavi Creator Policies. They say what content is not allowed on Kavi, what content is allowed only with care, how Kavi reviews and moderates content, and how you can appeal or report a problem.
1.2 Kavi is a Telugu-language audio service for listeners in the United States and India, operated by Kavi Media, Inc., a Delaware corporation with its principal place of business in Alpharetta, Georgia, USA (mailing address: 169 Madison Ave STE 30314, New York, NY 10016, USA) ("Kavi").
1.3 In these Guidelines, "your signed agreement" means everything you have signed or accepted with Kavi (your Master, its Schedules, Rate Card, exhibits, joinders, riders and addenda, any other signed document with Kavi and, if you post short-form audio, the Creator Terms — Short-form).
2. Who and what these Guidelines cover
2.1 These Guidelines apply to every creator, co-host, co-owner and approved short-form creator with a Kavi Creator Portal ("Portal") account.
2.2 They cover everything you deliver or post to Kavi: episodes, shows, specials, trailers, music releases, audiobook texts, short-form items (Bites), artwork, titles, descriptions, show notes, profile information and other metadata. You are responsible for what your guests, co-hosts and cast say in your content.
2.3 Conduct in Kavi's community spaces (such as Kavi's Discord server) is covered by the Community and Brand Rules.
3. How these Guidelines apply to your content
3.1 For content under a Master. These Guidelines are part of the acceptance criteria for content you deliver under your Master. Kavi checks delivered content against them only as your Master allows. A change to these Guidelines that adds a new acceptance criterion or materially increases your burden applies to content under a Schedule signed before the change only as your Master allows (under the Creator Master Agreement, from your next Schedule, unless the law requires the change sooner).
3.2 For short-form. Kavi reviews short-form items against these Guidelines as the Creator Terms — Short-form describe.
3.3 What these Guidelines do not do. They are content and conduct rules only. Kavi will not reject or remove content under these Guidelines because of creative or editorial preferences, the opinions expressed (if they comply with these Guidelines and the law), production style, or when, where, how or with what tools you made it. These Guidelines do not tell you how, when or where to work. Separately, your signed agreement may let Kavi decline, not release or stop offering content for other reasons (for example, Music Master Agreement clauses 8.4A and 15.2B, Audiobook Master Agreement clause 9.7 and Creator Terms — Short-form Section 6.8); those rights are governed by your signed agreement, not by these Guidelines.
4. Prohibited content
The following content is not allowed anywhere on Kavi: not in audio, artwork, titles, descriptions, metadata or links, and not in AI-generated or AI-altered form. This list reflects, among other things, the categories of prohibited information in Rule 3(1)(b) of India's Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, as amended (the "IT Rules"). If those rules change, Kavi applies them as in force.
4.1 Child sexual abuse and exploitation (zero tolerance). Any content that sexualizes, grooms, exploits or endangers a minor, including child sexual abuse material in any form (audio, text, images, links or synthetic content), and any content involving the sexual exploitation, trafficking or enticement of a minor. See section 7.
4.2 Non-consensual intimate content. Intimate images, audio or descriptions of a real person shared without that person's consent, including AI-generated or morphed images or audio, and content that reveals a person's bodily privacy without consent.
4.3 Pornographic or obscene content. Content that is pornographic or obscene, or that is sexually explicit in a way meant to arouse.
4.4 Content that is harmful to children. Content that is harmful to children, including content that encourages children to engage in dangerous or sexual activity.
4.5 Hate, harassment and enmity. Content that: (a) attacks, dehumanizes or harasses people because of religion, caste, race, ethnicity, national origin, language, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or similar characteristics; (b) is racially or ethnically objectionable, or insults or harasses anyone on the basis of gender; or (c) promotes enmity between groups on grounds such as religion or caste with the intent to incite violence. Discussing, reporting on, criticizing or debating religion, caste, politics or social issues is allowed (see section 5).
4.6 Threats, violence and terrorism. Threats against any person; content that incites, glorifies or gives instructions for violence or terrorism; content that incites the commission of a serious offense or obstructs the investigation of an offense; and content that threatens the unity, integrity, defense, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign States, or public order, or that insults other nations.
4.7 Self-harm. Content that encourages, instructs or glorifies suicide, self-harm or eating disorders.
4.8 Invasion of privacy. Content that publishes someone's private information (such as a home address, phone number, identity number, financial or medical information) without consent, or recordings of people made without the consent the law requires.
4.9 Deception and impersonation. Content that: (a) impersonates another person, or presents a synthetic voice or likeness of a real person without that person's written consent; (b) deceives or misleads listeners about the origin of a message; or (c) knowingly and intentionally communicates information that is patently false and untrue or misleading.
4.10 Illegal goods, gambling and fraud. Content that promotes, sells or helps people obtain illegal goods or services; relates to or encourages money laundering; promotes gambling, betting or real-money online games, or advertises them directly or by surrogate advertising; or is a scam, phishing attempt or other fraud.
4.11 Stream manipulation. Content that offers rewards for streaming, organizes stream swapping or otherwise invites artificial plays.
4.12 Infringement. Content that belongs to someone else and that you have no right to use, or that infringes any copyright, trademark, patent or other proprietary right, or any right of publicity or personality. See the Copyright/DMCA and Repeat-Infringer Policy.
4.13 Defamation. False statements of fact that damage a real person's or organization's reputation.
4.14 Malicious code. Files, links or code containing viruses or other programs designed to interrupt, damage or limit the functioning of any computer resource.
4.15 Anything else unlawful. Content that breaks any law in force in the United States, India or Canada that applies to it.
5. Content allowed only with care
The following content is allowed if it is not prohibited by section 4, is given the right content rating and labels, and is handled responsibly.
5.1 Mature themes and explicit language. Strong language, non-graphic sexual references and mature themes are allowed if you mark the content explicit and give accurate content descriptors and a suggested age classification.
5.2 Violence in drama, history, true crime and news. Allowed where it serves the story or the reporting, without glorifying or giving instructions for violence, and with an accurate rating.
5.3 Drugs, alcohol and tobacco. Discussion is allowed. Content must not encourage illegal drug use, and must not promote alcohol or tobacco to minors. Paid promotion of these products is governed by the Sponsorship Disclosure Policy.
5.4 Religion, caste, politics and social issues. Discussion, criticism, satire and debate are allowed. Content must not cross into section 4.5 or 4.6. Separately, under your Master Agreement Kavi may decline to release, or may remove, a Work that creates a material legal, regulatory or safety risk or a serious reputational risk to Kavi; lawful criticism of a government, party, public figure, religion or policy is not, by itself, such a risk. Kavi tells you in writing what is affected and why and gives you a chance to change it, as your Master provides (Creator Master Agreement clause 4.9, Music Master Agreement clause 15.2A, Audiobook Master Agreement clause 3.3A); Kavi may keep the content unavailable while that chance is open.
5.5 News and current affairs. Allowed. Take reasonable care over accuracy, separate opinion from fact, and correct significant errors promptly.
5.6 Health, legal and financial topics. General information and personal experience are allowed. Do not present content as personalized professional advice, and do not make claims that a product or practice cures or prevents disease, or guarantees financial returns.
5.7 Suicide and self-harm topics. Personal stories and awareness content are allowed. Avoid describing methods, and consider telling listeners where they can get help.
5.8 Age classification. For each item, give the content descriptors and suggested age classification the Portal asks for (for example U, U/A 7+, U/A 13+, U/A 16+ or A, as India's Code of Ethics for online curated content uses). Kavi makes the final classification and may age-restrict or label content accordingly.
6. People in your content
6.1 Consent to be recorded. Everyone whose voice is captured (co-hosts, guests, cast, callers and others) must know they are being recorded and consent before recording begins, including all-party consent wherever the law of any participant's location requires it.
6.2 Releases. Obtain and upload the releases your signed agreement requires (for example, the Guest / Participant Release and the Cast & Writer Release).
6.3 Children. No one under 13 may appear in any content. A guest under the age of majority where they live may appear only if, before you deliver or post the content, you have uploaded a Guest / Participant Release signed by their parent or guardian, every child-performer or child-work permit the law of the place of recording requires, and, if the guest is paid, proof of any set-aside deposit the law requires. If that guest lives in India, or their contribution will be recorded, edited or stored by a creator, co-host or editor in India, you must also obtain the parent's or guardian's verifiable consent through Kavi's process before recording begins. Kavi does not accept content with a voice actor, writer or other cast member under the age of majority where they live unless Kavi has given its prior written approval and you have uploaded every child-performer or child-work permit the law of the place of recording or work requires, the guardian-signed Cast & Writer Release, the signed Minor / Guardian Rider (Part C), and proof that any fee was paid into the minor's account with any required set-aside, and, if that cast member lives in India or their contribution will be recorded, edited or stored in India, the parent's or guardian's verifiable consent obtained through Kavi's process before recording or writing begins. A creator, co-host or co-owner who has signed with a Minor / Guardian Rider (Part B) needs no separate release to appear in their own content, but that content must not disclose their home address, school, phone number or exact location.
6.4 Synthetic voices. Do not include a synthetic voice imitating a real, identifiable person without that person's written consent. See the AI and Synthetic Content Policy.
7. Child safety: zero tolerance
7.1 If Kavi becomes aware of actual or apparent child sexual abuse material, or of content involving the sexual exploitation, trafficking or enticement of a minor, Kavi will: (a) remove it immediately, without notice; (b) preserve the material and related information securely as the law requires; (c) permanently end the short-form and other user-posting privileges of anyone who posted it. If that person also holds a Master, Kavi may immediately remove or disable the affected material and may temporarily restrict delivery functions where necessary for safety or law, but any permanent effect on a Master, Schedule or delivery obligation occurs only under that Master. Kavi will preserve the person's access to payments, statements, tax forms, contracts and legal notices unless applicable law requires otherwise; (d) report it as the law requires, including to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's CyberTipline (United States), to the police or the national cyber-crime reporting portal (India) and to the designated reporting organization and police (Canada); and (e) cooperate with the authorities.
7.2 The notice, appeal and restoration steps in these Guidelines do not apply to this content.
7.3 If you come across content on Kavi that you believe is child sexual abuse material, report it immediately to safety@kavi.audio (or through the in-app report tool, once Kavi offers one). Do not download, copy or share it.
7.4 Any effect on a Master happens only as that Master provides.
8. How Kavi reviews and moderates content
8.1 What Kavi checks. Kavi checks content only against these Guidelines and the other Creator Policies, the technical specifications and documents your signed agreement requires, any show brief agreed at signing, and the law.
8.2 How. Kavi uses people, automated tools or both. Automated tools that use AI are used only for the purposes the AI and Synthetic Content Policy lists (including moderation and fraud detection).
8.3 What Kavi may do. Depending on the problem and on what your signed agreement allows, Kavi may: (a) reject delivered content under your Master's acceptance process, identifying each criterion not met; (b) add a label, disclosure or content rating, or age-restrict the content; (c) limit how widely short-form content is recommended; (d) mute, remove or disable access to only the part of the content that breaks the rules; (e) remove or disable access to the whole item; (f) restrict your ability to upload or post, as the Creator Portal Terms describe; or (g) for short-form, suspend or end your approval to post, as the Creator Terms — Short-form provide.
8.4 Notice and a chance to fix. Where content under a Master must be changed or removed, Kavi will tell you, explain the issue and give you a reasonable opportunity to make the change. Kavi may act first and tell you promptly afterwards, with reasons, only where a legal deadline does not allow time, or where the content is clearly unlawful or breaks these Guidelines in a way that risks serious harm to any person or to the Service, or where your Master's content-risk clause allows it (section 5.4). Kavi will not otherwise change your content in a way that materially alters its meaning without consulting you and getting your approval. Under the Music Master Agreement, Kavi may also remove or suspend a Release in the cases listed in clause 15.2 of that Agreement (for example, a credible legal claim or takedown notice, or a share that is no longer licensed), and will tell you why.
8.5 Reasons. Kavi tells you which rule it relied on and why, unless the law prohibits this or doing so would compromise an investigation or someone's safety.
8.6 Effect on your agreement. What happens to a license, royalties or a Schedule when content is rejected or removed is governed by your signed agreement. A rejection or removal is not, by itself, a breach by you unless your signed agreement says so.
9. Appeals
9.1 You may ask Kavi to reconsider a moderation decision (other than a decision under section 7) within 30 days after Kavi tells you about it, through the Portal or by email to legal@kavi.audio. Explain why you think the decision was wrong.
9.2 Kavi will review the request in good faith, where practicable by someone who was not involved in the original decision, and tell you the outcome and its reasons within 30 days after it receives the request (or any shorter period the law requires). If Kavi finds the decision was wrong, it will restore the content or remove the label or restriction.
9.3 For content under a Master, appealing does not replace your rights under your Master, including re-delivering corrected content and the dispute-resolution clause.
10. Legal orders and takedown deadlines
10.1 Kavi complies with valid court orders, government orders and legal notices, including orders under India's IT Rules, within the time the law requires. Some of those deadlines are only a few hours, so Kavi may need to disable access to content first and tell you afterwards.
10.2 Kavi will tell you about an order affecting your content promptly, unless the law prohibits it. Please cooperate promptly, including by giving Kavi information it reasonably needs to respond on time.
11. Reporting a problem
11.1 Anyone, including people who do not use Kavi, may report content they believe breaks these Guidelines:
- in the Kavi app, using the report tool, once Kavi offers one;
- for safety, child-safety, intimate-image and impersonation reports: safety@kavi.audio;
- for copyright complaints: copyright@kavi.audio (see the Copyright/DMCA and Repeat-Infringer Policy);
- for trademark, publicity, personality and privacy complaints: rights@kavi.audio; and
- for complaints under India's IT Rules: Kavi's Grievance Officer (section 12).
11.2 Intimate images. Anyone may ask Kavi to remove an intimate image or audio of them published without consent, including AI-generated or morphed content, and someone authorized to act for them may ask on their behalf, by email to safety@kavi.audio (kavi.audio/legal/intimate-image-removal explains the process). A valid request is in writing and includes: (a) the physical or electronic signature of the person shown or heard, or of someone authorized to act for them; (b) enough information for Kavi to identify and find the content (for example, a link); (c) a brief statement that the person believes in good faith that the content was published without their consent, with any information that helps Kavi confirm this; and (d) contact details. For a complaint from India under India's IT Rules, Kavi acts on any complaint that identifies the content, even if some of these items are missing. Kavi will remove or disable access to the content within 48 hours after receiving a valid request, or within any shorter period the law requires (under India's IT Rules, 2 hours for a complaint from India), and will make reasonable efforts to remove identical copies.
12. Grievance Officer (India)
12.1 Kavi's Grievance Officer for India receives complaints about content on Kavi and about moderation decisions, including complaints under India's IT Rules:
Name and contact details: published at kavi.audio/legal/grievance-officer Kavi Media, Inc. Email: privacy@kavi.audio
12.2 Kavi acknowledges each complaint within 24 hours and resolves it within 7 days, or within any shorter period the law requires. Under India's IT Rules, Kavi removes or disables access to content within 36 hours after receiving a valid complaint asking Kavi to remove content of a kind that India's IT Rules require users not to post (for example obscene content, content harmful to children, impersonation, or deliberately false or misleading content), and within 2 hours after receiving a complaint that it impersonates a person (including an AI-generated or morphed likeness or voice) or is an intimate image or audio published without consent. The 36-hour period does not apply to a complaint that content belongs to someone else, infringes a copyright, trademark or patent, or breaks another law; Kavi resolves those within 7 days (copyright complaints follow the Copyright/DMCA and Repeat-Infringer Policy).
12.3 Kavi reminds users in India of these Guidelines, the Creator Policies and the consequences of breaking them at least once every three months.
13. Conduct outside Kavi
These Guidelines apply to content you deliver or post to Kavi. They do not regulate your private life. Your Master says whether and how public conduct can affect it (for example, the Creator Master Agreement's clause on conduct affecting the show), and those rules apply only as your Master states.
14. Contact
- Safety, child-safety, intimate-image and impersonation reports: safety@kavi.audio
- Copyright notices: copyright@kavi.audio
- Trademark, publicity, personality and privacy complaints: rights@kavi.audio
- Appeals and other questions: legal@kavi.audio
- India Grievance Officer: section 12
- Post: Kavi Media, Inc., 169 Madison Ave STE 30314, New York, NY 10016, USA
15. Changes to these Guidelines
15.1 Kavi changes these Guidelines only as the Policy Acknowledgements describe: (a) at least 14 days' notice by email to the address in your Portal account and by a notice in the Portal, with a summary of what changed; (b) shorter notice, or immediate effect, only where required by law, a court or regulator order, an app store or payment provider, or needed to deal with an urgent safety, security, fraud or child-safety risk (for example, a change to takedown timelines under India's IT Rules), and only to the extent that requirement or risk demands, with an explanation as soon as practicable. Shorter notice affects only when the change takes effect, and paragraph (f) applies to it in full; (c) a change in your favor, or a purely administrative change, may take effect when posted, with notice; (d) for a material change, Kavi will ask you to acknowledge these Guidelines again in the Portal. Until you acknowledge, the earlier version keeps applying to content under any Schedule, Release Schedule or Book Schedule signed before the change, as your Master provides, and Kavi will not hold back uploads of that content, royalties already earned, or exploitation of or payment for content already delivered. Kavi may ask you to acknowledge the new version before you sign a new Schedule; (e) a change applies as an acceptance criterion to content under an existing Schedule only as your Master allows (section 3.1), and if you do not accept a material change, your Master says what you may do; and (f) a change does not apply to content delivered, royalties earned or disputes that arose before it took effect, and does not apply as a new acceptance criterion or an increased production or delivery burden to content under a Schedule, Release Schedule or Book Schedule signed before the change, except to the extent applicable law requires immediate application. A court or regulator order is implemented to the extent it legally binds Kavi. An app store or payment provider requirement, or an urgent safety, security, fraud or child-safety risk, may justify only action that your signed agreement or applicable law already authorizes (for example, a mandatory takedown); it does not itself amend your signed agreement or make a new obligation in these Guidelines apply to earlier content. Royalties already earned on removed or restricted content remain payable.
15.2 No change to these Guidelines can reduce your royalty rates, change your payment terms, or change the rights you have granted or kept under your signed agreement.
15.3 Every past version stays available in the Portal.
16. Language
These Guidelines are in English, and the English text is binding. Kavi may provide a Telugu translation or summary as a courtesy; it is for information only.
17. Your signed agreement prevails
If these Guidelines conflict with your signed agreement, your signed agreement prevails.
