Creator Portal Terms
Kavi Media, Inc.
Version 1.0 — Effective 20 October 2026
Published at kavi.audio/legal/creator-portal-terms
1. About these Terms
1.1 These Creator Portal Terms (the "Terms") are one of the Kavi Creator Policies. They set the rules for using the Kavi Creator Portal (the "Portal"): your account, keeping it secure, what you may and may not do with Portal tools, and the rules for uploading content and metadata.
1.2 The Portal is operated by Kavi Media, Inc., a Delaware corporation with its principal place of business in Alpharetta, Georgia, USA (mailing address: 169 Madison Ave STE 30314, New York, NY 10016, USA) ("Kavi", "we", "us").
1.3 In these Terms:
- "your signed agreement" means everything you have signed or accepted with Kavi: your Creator Master Agreement, Music Master Agreement or Audiobook Master Agreement (each a "Master"), its Schedules, Rate Card and exhibits, any joinder, rider or addendum (including the India Addendum and the Canada Rider), any AI-Voice & Digital Replica Consent, Editing Support Agreement or Equipment Agreement, and, if you post short-form audio, the Creator Terms — Short-form;
- "content" means anything you upload through the Portal, including episodes, shows, music releases, book texts, short-form items (Bites), artwork, metadata and documents; and
- other capitalized terms have the meaning given in your signed agreement.
2. Who these Terms apply to
2.1 These Terms apply to everyone who has a Portal account, including: (a) creators, artists and licensors who have signed, or are being invited to sign, a Master; (b) co-hosts, co-owners and co-authors who sign a Co-Host Joinder, Split / Co-Owner Joinder or Audiobook Co-Owner Joinder (each uses their own account); (c) approved creators who post short-form audio under the Creator Terms — Short-form; and (d) anyone else Kavi gives Portal access to for a creator's agreement, such as a royalty nominee or an estate representative, for the parts of the Portal they use.
2.2 You must have reached the age of majority where you live (18 in most places, 19 in some Canadian provinces and territories) to have a Portal account, except an account opened with a signed Minor / Guardian Rider and supervised by the Guardian. Kavi opens a creator account for someone below that age only if they are aged 13 or older and have a signed Minor / Guardian Rider; that Rider then governs the account.
2.3 At this time Kavi opens creator accounts only for people and companies resident in the United States, India or Canada. Kavi does not yet open accounts for residents of Quebec; it will do so only once French versions of the relevant documents, including these Terms, are available.
2.4 If you use the Portal for a company, you confirm that you are authorized to act for it. Kavi treats activity on the account as the company's activity.
3. Opening your account and onboarding
3.1 Portal accounts are opened by invitation from Kavi or after Kavi approves an application. You sign in through Kavi's sign-in service. Kavi does not see your password.
3.2 Some Portal features stay locked until you complete the onboarding steps that apply to you, for example: (a) acknowledging the Kavi Creator Policies through the Policy Acknowledgements; (b) signing your Master (and, if you are resident in India, signing it, the India Addendum and every Schedule by Aadhaar-based or other e-KYC-based eSign, or a digital signature certificate, which Kavi arranges at its cost, as section 10.2 describes); and (c) completing your tax form and payout setup (see the Payout Policy). Locking a feature until onboarding is complete never forfeits money you have earned. Royalties continue to accrue and are paid as your signed agreement and the Payout Policy describe.
4. Account security
4.1 Keep your sign-in details secret. Do not share your account or let anyone else use it. Each person who needs access (for example each co-host) uses their own account.
4.2 Use any extra security features the Portal offers you, such as multi-factor sign-in, where available.
4.3 You are responsible for activity on your account, except activity caused by Kavi's own failure.
4.4 If you think someone else has accessed your account, or you have lost control of your email address, tell Kavi immediately by email to privacy@kavi.audio (subject line "Account security"). Kavi may temporarily lock the account while it investigates, and will tell you what it is doing and why.
5. Keeping your details current
5.1 Keep your email address, postal address and phone number up to date in the Portal. Kavi sends notices to the email address in your Portal account and posts them in the Portal, and may also send legal notices by courier to your registered postal address, as your signed agreement provides.
5.2 Tell Kavi in the Portal before you move your residence or tax residence to another country, US state, Canadian province or territory, or Indian state. Your signed agreement says how much notice to give (under the Creator Master Agreement, at least 30 days before the move where possible) and what happens next.
6. Sensitive information: secure flows only
6.1 Give identity documents, tax identification numbers (such as a US Social Security number, EIN or Indian PAN), tax forms and bank or payout details only through the secure Portal forms, which pass them to Kavi's payout provider or tax-form provider. Never send them by email, chat, messaging app or social media.
6.2 Kavi will never ask you for those details by email, direct message or phone. If you receive such a request that appears to come from Kavi, do not reply. Report it to privacy@kavi.audio.
6.3 Kavi never asks for, and does not store, your Aadhaar number.
7. Uploading content
7.1 Through the Portal only. Deliver content, and the documents that go with it, only through the Portal (or another secure channel Kavi names in writing for a particular file).
7.2 Specifications and documents. Each upload must meet the technical specifications and include the documents your signed agreement requires (for example, for shows, the Delivery and Acceptance Criteria exhibit to the Creator Master Agreement; for music, the Release Schedule; for audiobooks, the Book Schedule; for short-form, the specifications shown in the Portal). Upload the required releases, clearance documents, AI disclosure and sponsorship disclosure with the content they relate to.
7.3 Timing. Deliver by the dates and lead times in your signed agreement (for example, under the Creator Master Agreement, at least 7 days before the scheduled Release Date unless your Schedule says otherwise).
7.4 Your rights. Upload only content you have the right to license or post, as your signed agreement and the Copyright/DMCA and Repeat-Infringer Policy describe.
7.5 Uploading is not acceptance. For content under a Master, Kavi reviews and accepts or rejects it only as your Master provides. For short-form, the Creator Terms — Short-form apply.
7.6 Content rules. All content must follow the Community Guidelines, the AI and Synthetic Content Policy and the Sponsorship Disclosure Policy.
8. Metadata, artwork and credits
8.1 Accurate and complete. Titles, descriptions, show notes, episode and season numbers, language, genre, credits, contributor names, splits and identifiers (such as ISRC or ISWC for music, or ISBN for audiobooks where you have one) must be accurate and complete. Where the Portal asks for metadata in both Telugu and English, provide both.
8.2 Not misleading. Metadata must not: (a) use another creator's, artist's, author's or brand's name, or a well-known title, to mislead listeners or search; (b) contain keyword lists, repeated words or other text meant to manipulate search or recommendations; (c) misdescribe the content, its language, its length, who made it or who appears in it; (d) present AI-generated content as human-made, or remove or contradict a label Kavi adds; or (e) include links to malicious, deceptive or unlawful sites.
8.3 Content rating and classification. Mark explicit content using the explicit flag, and give the content descriptors and suggested age classification the Portal asks for. Kavi uses these to classify and display content, including as India's Code of Ethics for online curated content requires to the extent it applies to the Service. Kavi makes the final classification.
8.4 Artwork. Artwork must meet the specifications in your signed agreement, must be yours or licensed to you, must not contain third-party logos or trademarks without permission, and must follow the Community Guidelines.
8.5 Co-creators and splits. Splits and co-creator details you enter in the Portal must match the joinders and split sheets that have been signed. A person named as a co-host or co-owner must sign their own joinder before Kavi can accept the content.
8.6 Corrections. Kavi may correct obvious metadata errors after telling you, and may add the labels, disclosures and credits your signed agreement allows.
9. Acceptable use of the Portal and its tools
9.1 Use the Portal only to manage your own relationship with Kavi and your own content. Do not: (a) access, or try to access, another person's account, content, statements or data, or any part of the Portal or Kavi's systems you are not authorized to use; (b) probe, scan or test the security of the Portal, or bypass any access control, rate limit or technical measure, unless Kavi has agreed in writing in advance; (c) use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access the Portal or download content or data from it, other than export features the Portal provides; (d) copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the Portal or its software, except as the law allows despite this restriction; (e) upload viruses, malware or any code designed to harm or interfere with any system; (f) use the Portal to send spam or unsolicited messages; (g) generate, buy or encourage artificial plays, or use the Portal in connection with any stream-manipulation scheme; (h) give false information, or impersonate any person or organization; or (i) use the Portal in a way that breaks the law.
9.2 Analytics. Kavi gives you listener analytics in aggregated form, except that you can see the names and photos of listeners who follow you, which they make public (use them only to run your content on Kavi; never contact, profile, sell or share them outside Kavi). Keep non-public analytics confidential, use them only to understand and improve your own content, and never try to identify any individual listener.
9.3 Kavi Library Music and templates. Music, stings and sound effects that Kavi makes available as Kavi Library Music may be used only within the license terms shown in the Portal. Templates Kavi provides (such as the Guest / Participant Release and the Cast & Writer Release) may be used only for content you deliver to Kavi.
9.4 Portal tools that use AI. Where the Portal offers automated tools (for example, automatic transcripts or captions), Kavi uses AI on your content only as your signed agreement and the AI and Synthetic Content Policy allow.
10. Notices, signatures and records
10.1 Notices. Kavi gives notices by email to the address in your Portal account together with a notice in the Portal, and in any other way your signed agreement requires. Formal notices to Kavi go to legal@kavi.audio, in the way your signed agreement describes.
10.2 Electronic signatures. Documents may be accepted or signed in the Portal only where your signed agreement and the governing law permit that method. Where a Master, rider, Schedule, joinder, assignment or other document requires DocuSeal (Kavi's e-signature service), Aadhaar-based or other e-KYC-based eSign, a digital signature certificate, or another specific signing method, that method controls. For example, under the Music Master Agreement a Release Schedule may be accepted in the Portal, except where that Agreement requires another method; under the Creator Master Agreement and the Audiobook Master Agreement, Show, Title and Book Schedules are signed through DocuSeal. If you are resident in India, you sign every document that licenses, assigns or consents to rights (including your Master, the India Addendum, every Schedule and every joinder) by Aadhaar-based or other e-KYC-based eSign, or a digital signature certificate, which Kavi arranges at its cost (through Leegality), and never by ticking a box or typing your name in the Portal. The only exceptions are the Creator Terms — Short-form, which every approved short-form creator, including one resident in India, accepts in the Portal as those Terms describe, and an approval or election that your signed agreement expressly provides is given in the Portal (for example, your express approval of a Kavi Production Edit under Schedule I-1 of the Editing Support Agreement, or an Editing Election that causes no Editing Reduction under clause 3.1 of that Agreement). Ticking a box and selecting an "I agree" or "Accept" button in the Portal is your electronic signature only for a document or election for which that method is legally and contractually sufficient.
10.3 Records. The Portal keeps every version of each Creator Policy, a record of each acknowledgement you give and your signed documents. You can download them at any time. Links to the Creator Policies, privacy information and these Terms appear on every Portal page.
11. Availability of the Portal
11.1 Kavi works to keep the Portal available and secure, but it may be unavailable at times, for example for maintenance or because of a failure outside Kavi's control.
11.2 Portal downtime never changes Kavi's payment deadlines. If you cannot deliver on time because the Portal is unavailable, tell Kavi by email to legal@kavi.audio as soon as you can. A delay caused by Kavi is not a late or missed delivery by you.
11.3 Kavi may add, change or remove Portal features. Kavi will not remove a feature you need to receive statements, payments or notices, give tax or payout details, or sign documents under your signed agreement, without giving you another way to do so.
12. Restricting access
12.1 Kavi may suspend or restrict your use of particular Portal functions (for example, uploading or posting) where: (a) needed to deal with a security risk to your account or the Portal; (b) you have seriously breached these Terms or another Creator Policy; (c) the Copyright/DMCA and Repeat-Infringer Policy provides for it (including, in appropriate circumstances, terminating a repeat infringer's content-posting and service account while keeping the read-only channel described in section 8.6 of that Policy); or (d) the law, a court or regulator order requires it.
12.1A For content under a Master, Kavi restricts uploading or delivery only as your Master provides. Any restriction under section 12.1(a) lasts only as long as the risk requires, extends your Delivery Dates by the same period, and is never a late or missed delivery.
12.2 Kavi will tell you what it has restricted and why, unless the law prohibits this or telling you would compromise an investigation or someone's safety.
12.3 Your money and records stay reachable. If you have a Master, Kavi will keep your access to your Royalty Statements, payments, tax and payout forms, Schedules and notices open even while other functions are restricted, except to the extent the law requires otherwise. If Kavi must lock your whole account for a short time for security reasons, it will give you any statement or notice you need by another secure means.
12.4 Any effect on your Master or Schedules (such as termination) happens only as your Master provides. These Terms do not create any additional ground for ending your Master. If a restriction Kavi imposes prevents you from using a function you need to meet an existing delivery obligation under your signed agreement, Kavi will either give you a reasonable alternative way to deliver or extend each affected Delivery Date by the period the function is unavailable. No breach, missed delivery or termination ground arises solely because you could not perform as a result of that restriction. This does not apply where upload or delivery under your Master has been ended as that Master provides (for example, Creator Master Agreement clause 16.4(e)); that Master then governs.
13. Closing your account
13.1 You may ask Kavi to close your Portal account by email to privacy@kavi.audio (kavi.audio/legal/privacy-request explains how).
13.2 While you have a Master, any license under it is still running or any money may still be owed to you, Kavi will keep the parts of your account needed to pay you, give you statements and send notices. Closing your account does not end your Master, any license or any royalty.
13.3 Kavi keeps records as described in the Creator Privacy Notice.
14. Kavi's materials
The Portal, its software and design, Kavi's templates, badges and brand assets belong to Kavi or its licensors. These Terms do not give you any right in them, except to use them as the Portal, the Community and Brand Rules and your signed agreement allow. Nothing in these Terms gives Kavi any right in your content beyond your signed agreement.
15. Liability and disputes
These Terms do not add to your liability to Kavi or reduce Kavi's obligations to you. Liability and disputes about the Portal are governed by your signed agreement, including its limitation-of-liability and dispute-resolution clauses.
16. Contact

17. Changes to these Terms
17.1 Kavi changes these Terms only as the Policy Acknowledgements describe: (a) Kavi gives at least 14 days' notice of a change by email to the address in your Portal account and by a notice in the Portal, with a summary of what changed; (b) Kavi may make a change on shorter notice, or immediately, only where it is required by law, a court or regulator order, an app store or payment provider, or needed to deal with an urgent safety, security, fraud or child-safety risk, and only to the extent that requirement or risk demands; Kavi will tell you as soon as practicable and explain why. Shorter notice affects only when the change takes effect, and paragraph (f) applies to it in full; (c) a change in your favor, or a purely administrative change (such as a corrected link or contact detail), may take effect when posted, with notice; (d) for a material change (as the Policy Acknowledgements define it), Kavi will ask you to acknowledge these Terms again in the Portal. Until you acknowledge, the earlier version keeps applying to content under any Schedule, Release Schedule or Book Schedule signed before the change, as your Master provides, and Kavi will not hold back uploads of that content, royalties already earned, or exploitation of or payment for content already delivered. Kavi may ask you to acknowledge the new version before you sign a new Schedule; (e) if you do not accept a material change, your Master (as summarized in the Policy Acknowledgements) says what you may do; and (f) a change does not apply to content delivered, royalties earned or disputes that arose before it took effect, and does not apply as a new acceptance criterion or an increased production or delivery burden to content under a Schedule, Release Schedule or Book Schedule signed before the change, except to the extent applicable law requires immediate application. A court or regulator order is implemented to the extent it legally binds Kavi. An app store or payment provider requirement, or an urgent safety, security, fraud or child-safety risk, may justify only action that your signed agreement or applicable law already authorizes (for example, a mandatory takedown); it does not itself amend your signed agreement or make a new obligation in these Terms apply to earlier content. Royalties already earned on removed or restricted content remain payable.
17.2 No change to these Terms can reduce your royalty rates, change your payment terms, or change the rights you have granted or kept under your signed agreement. Those change only by a written amendment signed by you and Kavi (or by a rate change, or another change in your favor, that your Master allows Kavi to make by notice).
17.3 Every past version of these Terms stays available in the Portal.
18. Language
These Terms are in English, and the English text is binding. Kavi may provide a Telugu translation or summary as a courtesy; it is for information only.
19. Your signed agreement prevails
If these Terms conflict with your signed agreement, your signed agreement prevails.
